#TASS: #PRIGOZHIN WAS ON PASSENGER LIST OF “CRASHED” PLANE
The #mercenary leader Yevgeny V. Prigozhin was listed on the passenger roster of a private jet that crashed in #Russia on Wed, killing all 10 people aboard, Russia’s aviation authority said.
#Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said that an Embraer jet crashed in the Tver region, north of Moscow, killing everyone aboard, according to the state news agency #Tass. Minutes later, Tass said that Russia’s aviation authority said that #Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on the plane.

Gen. Sergei #Surovikin, a fmr commander of #Russia’s forces in #Ukraine believed to be close to the mercenary warlord Yevgeny V. #Prigozhin, was relieved of his duties as the chief of Russia’s Air Force, the Russian state media reported on Wednesday.

Yevgeny #Prigozhin’s fate is not known at the moment. On the social messaging app Telegram, an account known to be close to the Russian authorities, Readovka, says that reports of the warlord’s death are “premature.” It adds: “Yevgeny Prigozhin may have been on a different airplane.”

The name of #DmitriUtkin, the #Wagner mercenary group’s most prominent commander, was also on the passenger #manifest of the plane that crashed on Wednesday, according to the Russian authorities. #Russia’s aviation authority released the full roster of those aboard; it included the names of both Yevgeny #Prigozhin & #Utkin.
A senior Western #intelligence official said that #Prigozhin was on board the plane that crashed. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss confidential intelligence assessments, said the judgment was based on “many indicators” that his government had evaluated. U.S. officials have not confirmed that Prigozhin was on the plane.
