#RyanSamsel was among a group who overwhelmed 5 officers at Peace Circle, seriously injuring one of them. Samsel & the 4 others lifted the barricades & hurled them at police, opening a path for rioters to the Capitol.

On #Jan6, 2021, they found themselves together at the front of the angry push by rioters toward the U.S. Capitol. And together, video showed, they lifted a line of 5 linked barriers & heaved them into a group of 5 #CapitolPolice officers w/such force that one of the officers went airborne, striking her head & falling briefly unconscious.
All 5 defendants were convicted of #felony #CivilDisorder & 1 count of #assaulting a #police officer in addition to multiple #trespassing-related misdemeanors. Samsel, Grant & Johnson were convicted of #obstructing an official proceeding, but Blythe & Randolph were acquitted of those counts. A written order will be posted later.
