Trump again [sigh] reiterates #ConspiracyTheories that #immigrants are taking the jobs of native-born Americans, including #Black Americans. The percentage of native-born #Americans who are #employed, factoring for structural changes in age, are higher than at any year of the Trump admin. That ratio for Black workers is as high or higher as it ever was during the Trump presidency.

Trump again tries to say he set off a #StockMarket boom , arguing that the market was higher when he left office than it was when the pandemic hit. An irony there, however, is that it is significantly higher now under #BidenHarris than it EVER was at ANY point of the Trump administration.

“Not true. Not true,” #KamalaHarris mouths, raising her hand during a #Trump assertion about chips and the U.S. relationship with China. She knows her mic is muted, but that the camera is on her.

#Harris goes after #Trump on #China policy. (We knew this was coming.) “This deal with China… He ended up selling American chips to China to help them improve and modernize their military — basically sold us out… when a policy about China should be in making sure the United States of America wins the competition for the 21st century.”

#KamalaHarris is attacking #Trump’s record on covid which was shit at best. He was often dismissive of what #PublicHealth experts suggested, and his administration made a number of major mistakes. She’s also attacking him for praising President Xi Jinping of China and taking a soft tack with him at the beginning of covid. As reported at the time, that’s true — his advisers begged him to take a harder line on Xi.

I’ll say this, the moderators are DEFINITELY allowing Trump to “respond” to #KamalaHarris’ answers FAR MORE than they’re allowing Harris to reply to his.

Instead, he said: “I want to the war to stop … people are getting killed by the millions.” According to the United Nations, from February 2022 to the end of July, at least 11,520 civilians have been killed in Ukraine.
