Ridiculous, so much for the

News agreed to give $15M to Trump’s future presidential foundation & *museum* to settle a lawsuit filed by Trump concerning on-air statements made by star anchor .

Under the terms of a filed in Federal Court in Miami, ABC & Stephanopoulos said they would publish a statement saying they “regret” the remarks that the anchor made about Trump during a TV interview in March.

Donald J. Trump filed the lawsuit this spring concerning on-air statements made by the star ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos.
The New York Times · ABC to Pay $15 Million to Settle a Defamation Suit Brought by TrumpBy Alan Feuer

@Nonilex The media is caving and ignoring their first amendment rights - and their public obligations.

@Nonilex This is extortion. And expected as this cryptofascistcapitalocracy takes hold. I am not at all surprised. More will pay to play until it is all of corporate media.

@Nonilex

Now is when we find out if George has any integrity. He could refuse to apologize for the truth.

Pro tip: he'll take the money because he has no integrity

@troy_frizzell @Nonilex And this will be an excuse for ABC to fire him and replace him with someone younger and cheaper who will comply with the company line.

@Nonilex
This is pathetic. I'm sure they would have won their lawsuit. Unless they got a Trump judge of course.

@Nonilex As much as I hate to say it, when I heard what Stephanopolous said I agreed that it was defamatory, basically because in New York, the charge was sexual assault, not rape, because "rape" has a different definition. In almost any other state, it would have been rape, but not New York.

@Nonilex In fact, if Stephanopolous had said, "convicte of what would have been called rape in almsot any other state..."

@Nonilex I would say this is "unbelievable", but I don't think that word means what it used to. 😟

@Nonilex but Trump did rape a lady and can't say he didn't without it costing him more money. So... there's that.

Is there something going around removing people's spines?

@Finitum @Nonilex yes, it's called anticipatory obedience. No one has the stones to stand up to the Dick Tater.

@sspopovich @Nonilex its a stupid strategy from any angle. If they want access, Fox doesn't get access from dems and gets great ratings. Fox makes it's brand by saying "we won't stand down to the dictator dems", "we ask the tough questions (of dems) that other reporters are afraid to ask like 'did Hunter plan Benghazi with AOC'", etc.
There's way more money and eyeballs to be had being the rebel outsider than just another bootlicker. No one's going to lick that boot cleaner than fox.

@Nonilex They've all sold out. ABC, MSNBC - they've all sold out.

Y'all are going to hell in a handbasket down there and the press won't help you one bit. #GoodNightAmericaandGoodLuck

@Nonilex "Resist much, obey little;
Once unquestioning obedience, once fully enslaved; Once fully enslaved, no nation, state, city of this earth, ever afterward resumes its liberty." W. Whitman #freepress #trump

@Nonilex #abcnews is useless.
We all know the truth.
By this time next year Heil Trump will be required opening of any statement.

@Nonilex So ABC is paying off a conman as a suck-up. ABC is off my viewing list.

@Nonilex Trump HAD been found liable for rape. And ABC are paying out on reporting what the judge said? that?

chickenshit.

@Nonilex It hasn't been the #Freepress since the billionaires bought it. In the past they used to pretend to be unbiased, but now they don't care. I think we can blame Murdoch for this corruption of the press.

@Nonilex They don't want to be dissed.

Nor lose their profitable local owned stations' licenses.

The "museum"? Will it be located in the ballroom at Mar-A-Lago?

@Nonilex This is just an excuse for another back-door bribe to Trump, $15M is absurd, they would have had to proof intent in court and Stephanopoulous clearly just misspoke.

@Nonilex they're all getting in line. They'll regret it, eventually.
