#Trump’s appearance at #CPAC …began with country singer Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA & raucous cheers in a crowded ballroom that included #Jan6 #insurrectionists.
75 mins later, it concluded w/the #US president standing between 2 stars-and-stripes flags, pumping his fists & swaying to the Village People’s anthem YMCA.
What emerged in between was a man who has never felt so sure of himself, so contemptuous of his foes & so convinced of his righteous mission to make America great again, even if it means breaking china, cracking skulls & leaving global destruction in his wake.
As the title of Michael Wolff’s new book puts it, last Nov’s election was All or Nothing. Defeat meant ruin, disgrace & prison. Victory meant what #Trump’s cheerleaders like to call the greatest comeback in political history. It also meant #vengeance against his perceived tormentors in the #DOJ, #Democratic party & #media. As the martyr of Mar-a-Lago put it at #CPAC two years ago: “I am your retribution.”
This was the 15th time #Trump has addressed #CPAC…. When he was out of power, his freewheeling speeches could be dismissed as the ravings – or “weavings” – of a madman. Even during his first term, his #extremist rhetoric came w/some expectation that the democratic guardrails would hold.
But as America & the world have discovered during his first month back…, Trump is unbound, unhinged & looking for blood. He took the stage at CPAC brimming with confidence & basking in chants of: “USA! USA!”

Sunday, post Musk's Federal government emails from OPM, will be the hot topic on the morning talk shows, but what Trump said today will be more ominous because no one is challenging him.
Thanks. It’s all pretty overwhelming. Somedays the head & the heart just ache. But I think it’s better to know & relate true verifiable facts to others than to look away. Though, we all need to take the occasional mental health break.
