The 5-to-4 decision dealt another blow to the agency, which has recently sustained several losses before the court over its efforts to protect the .

The dispute fundamentally focused on human waste & how disposes of it. The question before the court was whether the of 1972 allowed the to impose prohibitions on released into the & to penalize the city for violating them.

@Nonilex
I'll take issue with "liberal San Francisco". As a resident, I see a city far more focused on preserving a coastal elite status quo. That includes pro choice and LGBQT+ rights, and otherwise nice words not really met by the actions required to make the nice words a reality.

(and yes, I fit the coastal elite demographic)

@Nonilex Take this bill to Congress - It shall be a criminal act to introduce any toxic substance of any kind into the environment where anything else might encounter it. All waste is permanently the responsibility and property of the entity who produced it until such time as it is rendered entirely inert.

Take that up loudly and publicly, force all challengers to explain why poisoning our environment is a good idea.

@Nonilex Addendum - every discharge must be proven in advance to be inert and non-toxic. If there's any question left, it's illegal to dump.
