As we wait to hear more on the #Trump / #Putin call, here is a reminder of the framework #minerals *deal* [#extortion] the #US & #Ukraine tentatively agreed to last month.

The deal, which is yet to be signed, would see the US extract Ukraine's #NaturalResources.

Titled "BILATERAL AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR A RECONSTRUCTION INVESTMENT FUND," it lays out some details:

• The deal does NOT name the assets & says they will be defined in a later agreement that will go to a vote in #parliament.

• The assets are "defined as deposits of #minerals, #hydrocarbons, #oil, natural #gas, & other extractable materials, & other #infrastructure relevant to #NaturalResource assets (such as liquefied natural gas terminals & port infrastructure)."

• "For the avoidance of doubt, such future sources of revenues do not include the current sources of revenues which are already part of the general budget revenues of #Ukraine."

• The fund aim is to invest in Ukrainian projects & attract investment in public & private assets including #NaturalResources, #infrastructure, #ports & state-owned enterprises.

• Contributions to the fund will be reinvested in Ukraine to promote "the safety, #security & prosperity of Ukraine."

Meanwhile, #Zelensky heads to #NATO member #Finland

#Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky will meet Finnish President #AlexanderStubb on Wednesday, the Finnish President's office said.

After a welcoming ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace in #Helsinki, the 2 will hold formal talks on Finland’s support for Ukraine, Stubb's office added.

At the end of the discussions, the Presidents will hold a joint press conference.

#Finland's #defense ministry announced last week it would give a new #military #aid package to #Ukraine, worth around 200M euros ($217.48M), including artillery ammunition to help in the #war w/ #Russia.
