Looking to give away my Late 2011 MacBookPro 8.1, preferably to someone who knows what to do with it.
At a friend's suggestion, I checked the trade-in value. Apple said they'd be happy to recycle it for free. 
I also have several old Mac laptops/desktops (even the first generation titanium), somehow I haven’t been able to get rid of them although I am usually good at trashing/removing things that I don’t need 
ah- I also have problems in getting rid of my old fly fishing gears 
@enog There seems to be an optimum time window when an old MacBook is still valuable to someone vs. only suitable for recycling. When I offered my Titanium MBP about 8 years ago, it was gone within a few minutes. Same with my the unit above: none of my friends wanted it, but on Freecycle I got four requests in 15 minutes.
