A new study has found that media coverage of climate migration often uses dehumanizing and xenophobic language. The study analyzed over 1,000 articles from 15 countries and found that they frequently portrayed climate migrants as threats, burdens or victims. The study calls for more nuanced and empathetic reporting that respects the dignity and agency of climate migrants.
