@motomatters Great stuff as always, David.
I am probably a (very) biased #JL99 fan, but I was of the mind that he spearheaded the development from a rider side that put Ducati where they are now. That the changes he suggested in 2017 benefited first Dovi (who'd never really shown any significant success at the top level prior to that point) and then himself. Am I off base here? And yes, I am fully aware that the REAL genuis is Gigi!
@Ben Lorenzo's input helped, wanting support from the bike to keep him in place, something factories hadn't done much of before.
But Dovizioso's input was important too. Most important, though, was Dall'Igna putting together a team of engineers, getting them to work together, and to listen to the riders and act on their input.
Communication and listening is a 10x bigger factor than what the riders say. Engineers have to listen, hear, act
@motomatters Think that could be said about most professions: communication is key.
Any signs yet that 2024 isn't going to be another Honda train wreck?
@Ben Define train wreck. 2024 looks like being the year they start removing the carriages from the buckled rails and clearing up the track. But don't put money on them being champion
@motomatters Which makes me think of Marc's words from "All In" - flexing the arm and pointing to the scar, and telling the Honda Execs that he didn't do that for fun.
@motomatters
Pedro Acosta looking pretty unstoppable for 2023.
