@rbreich Yeah because that worked so well internally within the dem party back in 2017..
I'm not cynical, but hey, as Dems, this is a discussion we need to have.. and have needed to have for a LONG time.
Clearly the WRONG people at the core/highest levels of the party have been making the judgement calls. Just look at results in the 21st century. The rot began in the 90's, even though many youths today are too young to remember. Just the same, the stink still clings to the party- the one that those people left behind them..
@rbreich It'd be foolish to discount the bad taste that 2016 left in everyone's mouths, but then again, when you look at the 21st century, the dem party appears to be as dead set on being a ship of fools as much as the republican party is dead set on remaining the same. neither party really reflecting the concerns or dreams of their members. This is where change must begin.
@rbreich Bottom line- democratic leadership has lost the trust (and soon, the faith as well..) of their members, and ironically, they worked hard to lose it.. since the 90's. No wonder the Republicans have been mopping the floor with the Party since 2000.
The Catholic church as an institution has a similar problem- the perception among people is that they worked hard to protect the guilty. Truth segregated from Justice cannot be wisdom. Foolishness has a cost, and we see that now in DC.
@rbreich We the identity politicked will TURN ON the others. There is no 'we the people'. It's we against the other people.
that seems to be a strong trend in history.
Fascism @felis_catus_domesticus, really has no ideology. It's driven by reactionary behavior... identities and personality politics drive that sort of behavior and as long as we hate on eachother the people who peddle it are never noticed
@rbreich
A bit late now. The chance to stop the fascist Trump regime passed last November. Eleven million non-voters, not MAGA, allowed trump to rise to power.
Protests won’t achieve a thing.
@rbreich
...but, also, why it's scary.
