Okay, it's probably not as objective as I would like, but to me it's so much easier to have another factor with which to differentiate icons from each other. I can't remember the how many times I've had to go through all of the pages scrolling repeatedly just to find the app I wanted to open. And yes, even when the apps are sorted alphabetically, because they're called app *icons*, not app names.
@teacherbuknoy The OC in me prefers them all to be in uniform shape.
@luthien1126 that's okay. I'm sure our capitalist overlords can give us options. They should!!!
@teacherbuknoy Yes to options!
@teacherbuknoy
Google is the worst. not only are all of their icons the same 'theme' - but they make it worse, since *sometimes* the app is "Google AppName" and other times, just "AppName" - so you can't find it alphabetically nor by quick icon differentiation :-(
@carlt4 true! It's so annoying. To work around it, I opted to just group all Google apps manually, but that's another layer of effort I'm going to dig through and sometimes I don't have the time or energy for it. So annoying.
@teacherbuknoy On Android, I use Nova Launcher* which lets me rename them. I haven't gone as far as to switch the icons.
*other launchers are available.
@carlt4 I've used Nova Launcher before, it was nice.
