You can hear him stumble all over himself seeing the illogic of "you have to make them productive ... so they can make money [and not rebel]" rather than you have to "give them a free public education like all the other nations in the world with high literacy rates". The cognitive dissonance is too much for him, even within the echo chamber of a quintessentially illogical Tucker Carlson interview (sycophantasy).

Fwiw, as a 1960s NY public school kid... middle of the curve at best, B average, by the time I took the Iowa Tests in 8th grade, my grammar and reading comprehension were 10th grade and my vocabulary was 12th; but my mother was a NY public school librarian who inspired me to read.
