It makes us happy to see Obi sleeping peacefully on his bed on the porch. He knows he’s safe and welcome. He has a cushion under the fleece blanket, and we have two of the blankets so that we can swap them out when one gets wet.

His fur is a mess right now. It’s beyond fixing with a comb. When it warms up, and he starts to shed his winter coat in earnest, we’ll cut the mats off and get him combed back to respectability.

Sorry the picture is rather crap, mainly because of all the cat snot on the window.

We have yet another cat hanging around the house. I would describe this one as a tuxedo tabby. He has the usual white pattern of a tuxedo cat, but instead of black, he’s a dark grey tabby. He’s an intact male, which is causing problems with Obi.

I got these pictures when he took a nap on our porch. Later, to our great surprise, we found Obi lying on the deck several feet away from Grey Boy, and neither one was reacting to the other. That was the one exception. Since then, we’ve had to take action a number of times when Grey Boy wanted to start a fight.

I’ve glimpsed this cat around the general neighborhood for around a year and a half. When Obi first took up residence at our house, I saw him vigorously chase this cat away more than once.

I posted about him on the local community FaceBook page for lost and found animals. Nobody knows anything about him.

Grey Boy is clearly hungry. I’ve been giving him a bowl of food once a day around the back side of the house where we have a large attached shed that houses a generator. The top is flat and protected by the eaves, so it stays dry. I don’t really want to encourage Grey Boy to hang around, but I do want to TNR him. That’s the plan. We’ll see how it goes.
