2nd chicken outing. Temps were decent til about 10:30 am. We started off in the ground level run area. They were more confident and explored a bit before rediscovering the ramp and heading to the indoor area. They didn't stay inside long, came back down the ramp and resumed nibbling emergent greens and scratching in the sandy loam.
Stheno appears to be the smart chick, she quickly discovered the pipe feeders and what they are for. They eventually all used them.
Chicks will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and are starting to look like proper pullets.
Today was their first outing in their coop. Winter weather hasn't been wanting to let go but finally got a day with acceptable temps for the feathering they have.
Just doing an hour today. Have a camp chair set up and will play a phone game while they explore.
Found my old video from 2023 when my mom's chickens where little hatchlings. 
Cinnamon Sugar is getting more tame and more interested in the other girls by the day. Today I was able to let her sit on my legs (rather than holding her tight like a football) and she was making cute little sounds rather than screaming like I was going to kill her. Such progress! So sweet.
A few days late but today was the last inside day for our teenagers. They are in a makeshift isolation area in the chicken run to get acclimated to outside and the old ladies.
This gives an idea of how big these orange monarch crocuses are. Also chickens helping.

Ethyl invited a friend to lunch. 
I had never seen Edith in our yard before; she followed close behind Ethyl but kept a very respectful distance from me. Ethyl was her usual self, whining until I pulled some feed from the songbird feeder and held it out for her.
The neighbors were aghast; while Ethyl is comfortable exploring the neighborhood, we have sufficient evidence the other hens couldn't find their way home if they so much as crossed the street.
Our chicken "Carson with a K" just snitched on the other chickens!
SWIM was hanging up laundry and had not fully closed the gate of the birds' day run.
Karson came up, clucked and wiggled to tell SWIM that the others were now out and about behind the house.
The snitch got some bugs as a reward (stitches for humans only) as the rest were lured back in with bugs,
