From a couple of weeks ago, a drift of Tulip 'Orange emperor’, who were lucky to escape the muntjac’s attention.
This cultivar was, apparently, introduced in 1962 by the the Dutch grower J.W.A. Lefeber. Back then, he could not have imagined that the name, Orange Emperor, would acquire such an unsavoury meaning more than sixty years later.
Let’s keep this our #secret. Somebody might think that they named a tulip after him.

Looking at this map in the context of local attitudes, I'm not surprised at all that the deeply conservative county just to the south of me shows "not at all concerned". It'll be interesting to see how that spins as sea level rises.

Probably more misplaced anger at "the libs" for not protecting them from their own ignorance.
