Lovely to attend the #ResolveCollective exhibition opening event at the RIBA Gallery on Thursday night. It features Resolve Collective's redistribution of surplus materials and furniture from the Tate Gallery, and film and objects (including the comet!) from some of the creative organisations that they worked with, including @DoESLiverpool - they got some great new shelves built in our Fibre Arts Room.

People come together in the space to use machinery ranging from 3D printers and other digital tools, to laser cutters and embroidery machines. They organise live events to teach making skills, sharing not only material but also knowledge with the community. Many of those that gather at DoES use recycled and recovered materials in their work. The comet flying above this space was created by Jackie Pease and other makers with recuperated plastics and LED lights. Its power supply unit, which was designed by another resident, can be used in any other appliance, reducing electrical waste.
