A dark, abandoned hallway inside the former Frankfurt police headquarters, with arched ceilings and crumbling walls. I love how moss is growing on the pieces of panelling that have fallen off the ceiling. It's such an odd thing to see - nature's slowly taking over, but it's somehow still confined to those symmetrical, unnatural shapes for the most part.

Another one from our trip to the former police headquarters in Frankfurt. Those are the remnants of the petrol station they operated in the inner yard of the building complex.

Konfetti
Foyer von Oper und Schauspiel Frankfurt. Architekten waren Otto Apel, Hannsgeorg Beckert und Gilbert Becker, 1959-1963. Nach dem Willen der Stadtverordneten soll das Gebäude abgerissen werden. Für das Foyer besteht Denkmalschutz. Von der Decke hängt das Kunstwerk "Goldwolken" des ungarischen Künstlers Zoltán Kemény über eine Länge von mehr als 100 Metern.

The old among the new.

This is one of 4 allegorical figures at the base of the Johannes Gutenberg Memorial at Frankfurt's Roßmarkt. They represent the main reasons for the invention of the printing press: theology (which is the statue in the photo), poetry, natural sciences, and industry. And I think they contrast so well with he shiny facades of the modern office buildings in teh background.
