I heard @wd9ewk on the SO-124/HADES-R pass just now using my OpenGD77 and an Elk antenna! Hopefully I can learn how to better track with the antenna and jump in for a QSO.

I went to a hamfest this morning and all I ended up buying were chocolate-covered pretzels. Maybe Saturday I can go to the pretzel-fest and buy some ham radio crap
I went for a #POTA activation at #plantenunblomen today. The conditions for shortwave contacts were a little rough due to a magnetic storm. Still I managed to get 39 QSOs into the logbook. Worked SSB and CW.
Iroquois flea market was a bit of a bust for me. Mostly boat anchors. Someone was trying to flog his HW-12 HW-22 HW-32 collection for $400 CDN with a sports HW-12 and a Heathkit PSU, someone else had an old Drake. Not many parts either for a builder. Ah well.

At the risk of igniting some controversy, but hopefully stimulating debate, I’d like to ponder the question: #Meshtastic and #LoRa mesh networks in general, #MeshCore, #Reticulum etc. … Are they “Amateur Radio”? #HamRadio - I know the technical UK answer “No, unless on 433MHz with the “Licensed Operator” setting on, with amateur license; no encryption, so no Reticulum allowed”. I’ll leave the question a bit open like that without further qualifications. Please boost for visibility! 73 Matt

Fortunately the weather held out and I had a fun afternoon doing #pota with my #hamradio club. I was doing FT8 and FT4 on 15m and had a very strange day — nearly every station I worked was either in Texas or in Italy! I even worked someone in Italy, TX (a small town about midway between Dallas and Waco)!
