The soil in the bonsai kit comes in a dehydrated, solid "turd", but was easy to break up into 5 similarly sized discs. We put these into the provided coir pots, and added some water. After a while, the discs had softened enough to break them up. The xmas tree kit doesn't come with any soil or pot so we found some soil in an old seed tray and a spare pot. That soil is currently rehydrating too. Time for #lunch then we should be able to plant the seeds in the soil.
