THREE chapters remain to edit in Book3.
I had a flashback yesterday, a moment of irrational fear when I questioned if my next breath would be there.
It was.
That wasn’t always the case. Once you’ve taken a breath & there was no air, you never forget.
I’m grateful for each one.

Gestern Abend bei Regen habe ich zum ersten Mal überhaupt einen adulten #Feuersalamander in freier Wildbahn gesehen. Was für ein hübsches Kerlchen
Ich würde behaupten, dass das die gebänderte Variante #SalamandraSalamandraTerrestris ist. Wenn das jemand mit Sicherheit bestätigen/korrigieren kann: gern!
Seid ihr schonmal einen Feuersalamander begegnet?

FOUR chapters remain for me to edit in Book3. Yesterday’s was hampered by nearby construction that even overpowered my headphones.
I finished.
Today, more construction? I’m prepared. I’ll walk, edit my blog post, & tackle a chapter.
They won’t stop me.

Two years of growing this beard, and today it feels exactly where it belongs — under the sun, in the quiet hills of southern Italy.
I’m reminded how good it feels to slow down, to embrace simplicity, and to just be.

It’s difficult to get up when there’s a soft, purring creature snuggled tight to your chest.
FIVE chapters left to edit in Book3.
When I walk this morning it’ll be freezing. The nights remain cold, the days mild.
I’ll then draft this week’s blog post, part two in a self-editing series.

Whew!
Left home at 8:05, streaked across town to the pharmacy, made two stops on the way back, & was on the walking trail at 8:53.
Time to drink more water, make tea, & edit.
On the walk, I saw birds. They were doing bird things in a bird sort of way like birds are prone to doing.

SIX Book3 chapters remain to edit. Counting down is but one of the things I do to fuel my motivation.
I’ll grab a prescription at the pharmacy when they open, then walk.
I’m so ready to hike. I’ve never pushed as hard at editing as I have this month.

Passend zum Wetter gibt es an diesem #Fotomontag eine düstere und doch bildgewaltige Momentaufnahme des Monte Zeda (2156m) aus unserer 3-tägigen, östlichen Durchquerung des wilden #valgrande Nationalparks im vergangenen Herbst.
Die #Trekking Tour überzeugte nicht nur wegen der Örtlichkeit (mich zog es schon 2 Male in den Park), sondern auch durch die technisch interessante Grat-Überschreitung auf dem Sentiero Bove mit tollen Ier Kletter-Passagen im teils ausgesetzten Gelände und der am dritten Tag einmaligen Sicht auf das Monte Rosa Massiv.
Ich werde definitiv wiederkommen.
