@raymondpert Agree, and mind you, it took the gumption of an #Australia-based academic to #critique the susceptibility of #American #presidential #elections to being gamed.
🧐I'm still looking for useful critiques/analyses of this crucial topic emanating from researchers based in the US. Meanwhile, one wonders whether this topic, and the serious study of it, might have somehow been relegated as a "dead-end" or "career-fatal" endeavor for US-based #politicalscience academics?🤔

Group 1.Noise too much to bear: commercial social media arguing based on dubious “fact” boosted by algorithm in order to drive ad revenue plus nonstop broadcast ads. Bury head.

Group2. Purity tests applied resulted in null set.

Group3. Wedge issue ads or other got to them, and they just. Could. Not.

Note #UFelectionlab data: more people #voted that day than voted in the #presidential. They made the effort, voted state local but skipped presidential.
