They call it an "#ECM" motor, but that is just an acronym for Electronically #Commutated Motor, which just means it doesn't have motor #brushes - just like a DC #brushless motor.
What they actually are is #fiendishly more #complicated. And so, of course, they're #expensive.
I paid about $1300 to replace it. I took the old one #apart to figure out how it #worked and why it's so expensive.
