#Trump allegedly discussed #US #NuclearSubs with foreign national after leaving White House
Months after leaving the WH, Trump allegedly discussed potentially sensitive info about US #NuclearSubmarines w/ a member of his #MarALago Club -- an Australian billionaire who then allegedly shared the info w/ scores of others, including more than a dozen #ForeignOfficials, several of his own employees, & a handful of journalists….
The potential disclosure was reported to #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith's team as they investigated #Trump's alleged #hoarding of #ClassifiedDocuments at #MarALago…. The info could shed further light on Trump's handling of sensitive government secrets.
#Prosecutors & #FBI agents have at least 2x this year interviewed the #MarALago member, #AnthonyPratt, who runs US-based #PrattIndustries, one of the world's largest packaging companies.
…#Pratt described…a meeting at #MarALago in April 2021 - (where) he brought up the #American #submarine #fleet, which the 2 had discussed before….
…Pratt told #Trump he believed Australia should start buying its submarines from the US, to which an excited Trump - “leaning" toward Pratt as if to be discreet- then told Pratt 2 pieces of info about US subs: the supposed exact number of #nuclear warheads they routinely carry, & exactly how close they can get to a Russian submarine w/o detection.
In emails & conversations after meeting w/ #Trump, #Pratt described Trump's remarks to at least 45 others, including 6 #journalists, 11 of his company's employees, 10 #AustralianOfficials, & 3 fmr Australian #PrimeMinisters….
While Pratt told investigators he couldn’t tell if what Trump said about US #submarines was real or just bluster, investigators nevertheless asked Pratt not to repeat the numbers that Trump allegedly told him….
