@Nonilex Proof in the pudding: they had control of the House, Senate, and Presidency between 2016 and 2018. They could have solved the problem the way they want it solved. They didn’t. Why? Because this crisis is their go to every national election cycle. They have nothing else that resonates. As an aside, the reason it resonates is because they lie about it: current law, numbers, illegal vs legal, country of origin, “got aways”, you name it, they lie.

@Nonilex @ddayen and from credible reports it appears that Putin is helping Republicans on the border/immigration issue by paying for and helping to arrange thousands more people around the world to head to Mexico and C.Am and then begin movig north to try sneaking across the southern US border. essentially if you have a body the Rus gov will help folks to do it, whether Mexicans, Russians, Chinese etc. and of course if Putin can embed *actual* Russian agents in those masses even better for him

Based on the frequency and cadence of #migrant #caravan stories on our southern border that ebb and flow as political fortunes rise and fall, I'm tempted to coin a new hashtag #PermanentBorderCrisis in a continuation of the theme covered by #PermanentStateOfWar
