In the other future, the new president endangers #PublicHealth & #safety & rejects evidence, preferring instead nonsensical conspiracy fantasies.” This is the magazine’s 2nd endorsement in its 179-yr history, following its endorsement of #Biden in 2020, which warned of the dangers of a Trump reelection.
The magazine reminds us that #Harris recognizes the danger of #ClimateChange & supports “#technology & #CleanEnergy” as well as “#education, #PublicHealth & #ReproductiveRights. She treats the #ClimateCrisis as the emergency it is & seeks to mitigate its catastrophic #storms, #fires & #droughts.” Meanwhile, #Trump “ignores the climate crisis in favor of more #pollution. He requires that federal officials show personal #loyalty to him rather than upholding US #laws.”
Moreover, “He [#Trump] fills positions in federal #science & other agencies w/ #unqualified #ideologues. He goads people into #hate & #division, & he inspires #extremists at state & local levels to pass laws that disrupt #education & make it harder to earn a living.”
