>20 #CivilService employees resigned from billionaire #Trump adviser #ElonMusk’s DOGE, saying they would not use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”
“We swore to serve the American people & uphold our oath to the #Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint #resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by AP. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by #ElonMusk to help him slash the size of the federal government under #Trump’s admin were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.
The mass #resignation of #engineers, #DataScientists & #ProductManagers is a temporary setback for #Musk & the Republican president’s tech-driven #purge of the federal workforce.
Note: These civil servants were originally United States Digital Service (#USDS) employees. Unfortunately #DOGE took over USDS. So USDS is now DOGE so they were considered “DOGE employees”

@Nonilex Thank heavens there are civil servants willing to leave rather than break their oath to the constitution. Principles matter. Too bad the broligarchs gave up principles for access to power.
@Nonilex
2025 American heroes!
@Nonilex I just saw an important correction to this: These were not DOGE employees, they were US Digital Service (USDS) employees who refused to help DOGE. See the post below from someone who seems to know. He says the USDS employee he's known have all wanted to provide government services to help citizens.
Correct. Unfortunately DOGE took over USDS. So USDS is now DOGE. But it is correct that these civil servants were originally USDS employees.
“Juramos servir al pueblo estadounidense y cumplir con nuestro juramento a la Constitución en todas las administraciones presidenciales”, escribieron los 21 miembros del personal en una carta de renuncia conjunta, de la que The Associated Press obtuvo una copia. “Sin embargo, ha quedado claro que ya no podemos cumplir con esos compromisos”.
