Last night as part of the reporting for our polling station, the write in ballots included:

• Jill Stein
• FREE PALESTINE
• Mitt Romney
• Donald Duck

When the jackbooted brownshirts ramp up their gleeful curb stomping, people like the above who scribbled in those phrases are going to targeted first.

People are suffering. Suffering people vote stupid.

Both parties spent 4 decades making the economy like this.

Most of them (us) try very hard to identify as White, and what is more self-affirming of Whiteness than voting for Trump?

@drahardja @lovelylovely When they and their friends and family are rounded-up and sent to internment camps and possibly deported, then maybe they'll see the error of their decisions.

@drahardja even though this makes me angry but as a Brazilian it doesn't surprise me at all. The problem with these minorities is that they feel particular "better" than the others. It is very normal to see foreigners abroad complaining about their compatriots. It is like „they are all lazy, only I am different“. Thing is that social and racial prejudice is present in the global south too. It is maybe a coping mechanism, feeling of superiority. I don't have another explanation. @lovelylovely

I think abortion was a big motivator, bc of religion, for many in that demographic.

The graphic gives the proportion of the voting population of genders and ethnicities, but I wonder if any of those demographics have particularly poor turnout compared to the others as well.

Anyways, I'm going to try to reserve my anger for the 35% of eligible voters that didn't even bother voting. Maybe the next few years will teach them to start caring.

I would say I can’t freaking believe Pa went SO RED but I saw the commercials. Not to mention the number of yard signs.

Republicans lied blatantly in their campaign ads and there was no push back. Low information voters, after depending on FOX for “news,” believed every word like it was the Gospel Truth.

I’d say I can’t believe it but I *know* some of these people.

@lovelylovely I don't understand enough of the American race situation to make a meaningful comment on the distribution but I do know maths. If about 5% of whites switched from blue to red, red gets the most votes, 'cause it was 47-51 right? 5%, how hard can it be to find five percent more sane people in that group?
