An interesting question from Grapsody's Righteous Reg on the bird site:

twitter.com/RighteousReg/statu

"People want Sami to be the one to beat Roman but do they want Sami to reign as world champion? Do they see him as the face of the company or just the one to defeat him because of the story?"

But my follow up would be: Does it matter? It feels like if doesn't capitalize on this moment in time with Sami, they'll never have it back.

@nicktylwalk My main problem is people keep comparing this to Daniel Bryan's rise. I don't think he's as hot as Bryan was at that time. I don't think the momentum behind him is about people wanting him to be champion, I just think they want to see him being funny and Ucey. There's been very little foreshadowing or hinting about him wanting the title, or even disliking Roman. That'll probably change tomorrow night but I don't see him winning the Rumble or headlining Mania. Prob something at EC.

@Zammer Agreed RE: Bryan; even Sami himself has been saying this week he doesn't think he's at that same level in terms of fans revolting if he doesn't win.

I also agree he'll likely get his moment at EC given where it's gong down, but that feels a little weak for the wave he's riding IMO. Because surely he's not dethroning Roman there, the last big event before Mania.
