About 300 servicemembers have landed at #Guantánamo Bay to provide security & begin setting up at a new tent city [#ConcentrationCamp] for migrants, as ofcls comply w/ #Trump’s order to prepare the Navy base for as many as 30k deportees.
…The operation will require a surge of staff & goods to the isolated base, which is behind a Cuban minefield & is entirely dependent on air & sea supply missions from the United States.

Everything from…bottled water & frozen food for the commissary to school supplies & govt vehicles come 2X a month on a barge. Fresh fruits & vegetables for the 4,200 residents come on a weekly refrigerator flight.
Fulfilling #Trump’s order could grow the population there tenfold because of the staff it would take to operate the encampment, which is on a unpopulated corner of the base, far from the prison & commissary, school & suburban-style neighborhoods for servicemembers & their families.
@Nonilex this is a combination crime against humanity and also massive scale infrastructure grift. Bet they need to contract out all those supplies, just like Covid.
@Nonilex
Makes me wonder how long it will take for the first American citizens or permanent residents to wind up in Guantanamo without due process.
That isn't an "if," it's a "how soon."
