#Trump, in a post on Truth Social on Thurs, doubled down on his proposal to displace >2M #Palestinians from the #Gaza Strip & redevelop the enclave, an initiative that has drawn condemnation from Palestinians & US allies around the #MiddleEast & a warning from the #UN secretary general about the dangers of #EthnicCleansing.
Trump first floated the proposal Tues, during a news conference w/ #Israel’s PM Benjamin #Netanyahu.
#Trump’s post Thurs added little detail to the proposal, while underscoring his focus on #Gaza as a #RealEstate challenge.
Trump wrote that Gaza “would be turned over to the #UnitedStates by #Israel at the conclusion of fighting.” The #US, he added, would work with “great development teams” to construct “what would become one of the greatest & most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth!”

#Palestinians “would have already been resettled in far safer & more beautiful communities” in the region, #Trump wrote, without saying whether such a displacement would be permanent.
No Arab state has agreed to take in Palestinians from #Gaza.
