So, I finished The Gambler by #Dostoevsky (cheapo Spanish edition, no named translator, full of typesetting mistakes), and it was a fun, though obviously rushed book.
The first half has a rather normal pace, while the second goes at a breakneck pace, but in a clever way.
I found the protagonist very entertaining, though incredibly stupid. At other times I would have thought him annoying...
So, recommended, but try to get a decent edition.
@bookstodon Tangentially, now I'm waiting for my last ever purchase from #BookDepository : the Everyman's Library edition of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment (the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation).
And I have a copy of The Brothers Karamazov (in a Spanish Penguin Classics edition) waiting for me to read it since last year...
