Teresa Wright, Spencer Tracy and Jean Simmons in “The Actress” (1953), written by Ruth Gordon.
The autobiographical nature of this caught me by surprise as I wouldn’t have guessed she was old enough to be talking about “President Taft” and referring to the death of Grover Cleveland as a 17-year-old. I mean, I remember when Ruth Gordon was alive and … well, I’d better stop there.

As a teenager (yeah) I fell in love with Natalie Wood. (Splendour In The Grass, Love With The Proper Stranger) So, through that, I saw Ruth--- Inside Daisy Clover, Rosemary's Baby. Gawd, she was a hoot.
