#Assad 's regime was propped up by #Russia and #Iran and as a result #Syria had been a handy corridor to allow Iran supply #Hezbollah with all it needed to keep attacking #Israel. Whatever comes next in Syria, it will very likely not be so accommodating to Iran and its proxies. Maybe that's a good thing. Whatever you think of Israel, with Hezbollah out on a limb perhaps it will help put a damper on the hostilities. One can only hope.

@Egbert that is a very good question. This was a serious blow to Russian prestige. Whether it will be so bad that it can break through Putin's political force field remains to be seen.
