The decision from #JudgeChutkan comes after #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith’s team on Fri asked Chutkan to quickly set limits on what Trump’s team can do w/the #evidence that will be shared w/them. Their request pointed to a post by #Trump on social media to argue that TFG has a habit of speaking publicly about the details of the various #legal proceedings he’s facing.

After #Chutkan on Sat ordered Trump’s #legal team to state its position on the motion by 5PM Mon, lawyers for #Trump requested more time to weigh in on the restrictions. Trump’s attys asked to have until Thurs, & suggested a hearing on the matter might be necessary if an agreement w/prosecutors isn’t reached.

#Smith’s team, however, urged Chutkan to stick to her original Mon deadline, arguing in a Sat afternoon #filing that the request from Trump’s legal team amounted to an “unnecessary delay.”

#Prosecutors said they were ready to work quickly to produce #discovery in the case…, but…, the #defendant is “standing in the way.”

The prosecutors argued in their original #ProtectiveOrder request that if #Trump “were to begin issuing public posts using details – or, for example, grand jury transcripts—obtained in discovery here, it could have a harmful chilling effect on #witnesses or adversely affect the fair administration of #justice in this case.”

Among the restrictions the prosecutors are requesting is a rule barring Trump’s lawyers from providing copies to #Trump of #discovery materials deemed “sensitive,” which include grand #jury materials & #witness interviews. TFG is allowed to be shown such materials, under the rules proposed by the prosecutors, however, he would be barred from taking down any personal identifying info from the documents.

@Nonilex None of these are the actual protective order that they requested. They're motions about the proposed protective order. I was hoping to see the order they requested itself. So far I haven't seen it posted by anyone.
